GO The Simcoe County Museum has once again summoned Saint Nicolas to Midhurst. Check out the days of Christmas past in the museum's annual Victorian Christmas, Dec. 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The afternoon includes period activities for the whole family. SHOW John McDermott has graced the stage of The Gryphon Theatre for Arts and Entertainment many times before, and has become a Christmas tradition in Barrie. On Dec. 4 his powerful tenor voice graces the stage once again for A Family Christmas. John encapsulates the feeling of the season as he performs ageless classics. The show is sponsored by National Bank. KNOW Watch and learn one of the most well-known Christmas stories - The Nutcracker, performed by the Ontario Ballet Theatre at the Orillia Opera House Dec. 5. Collingwood's Fleet-Wood Dancentre has two unique themes to accompany its production of The Nutcracker. On Nov. 21, Nutcracker dancers will perform in window displays on Hurontario Street from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in an event called Christmas Living Windows. The troupe then takes a portion of The Nutcracker to three local schools: St. Mary's, Nottawa and Cameron Street on Nov. 30. The main performance of the ballet takes place Dec. 11 and 12 at The Gayety Theatre.
