Staples Dournayan Design
The design concept in the guest bathroom was to complement the overall approach of the spectacular waterfront home. The concept is to simply modernize the existing elements and maintain the floorplan, such as the marble flooring and bath surround, the mirror, and the cabinetry. The designers sought a sustainable approach to re-use as much of the existing fixtures and cabinetry.
The most dramatic innovation is its sub-division into discrete zones. A partial wall composed of custom-etched glass separates the bath from the toilet, ensuring a degree of privacy and visually balancing the room's elongated shape.
Re-staining the existing vanity in a neutral tone complements the locally quarried Owen Sound limestone. The sinks, faucets and countertop will be replaced with modern double sinks in white porcelain set on an espresso limestone, with brushed stainless faucets. A neutral combination of creamy white and espresso brown with brushed stainless steel accents complements this sophisticated bath.
